Ella Jolly goes offshore

Later this week, Caroline Swailes (Community Programme Co-ordinator at Bibby Line Group) and I are being helicopter-ed out to the Alba FSU (a storage unit for oil) in the North Sea to facilitate a Get Into Reading group for the Bibby Line Group employees who work upon it. This is unmapped territory, for both The Reader Organisation and Bibby Line Group, and of course, for me personally. The lack of cartography imbues me with a heady mix of excitement and terror, and for some reason Louis MacNeice’s beautiful thought ‘the drunkenness of things being various’ sparkles round my head. I will update you all next week with news of my adventures at sea…
